Over the previous two years, Lombardi Associates acted in a complicated matter for our client, Torino FC. The matter involved the transfer of a player from Torino to a Mexican club. Despite signing the transfer agreement, the player did not sign an employment agreement with the Mexican club, instead choosing to sign an agreement with an Argentinean club.
The Mexican club refused to pay the agreed compensation to Torino and chose to pursue an action against the player, the Argentinean club and Torino, alleging breach of contract and an alleged inducement to breach a contract. Torino pursued a concurrent claim for payment of the transfer compensation.
The overview of the case is available to read here.
