The Ukrainian biathlete Olga Abramova has been represented by Anton Sotir, counsel to Lombardi Associates, in appeal proceedings before CAS against a decision of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) imposing a one-year ban for an alleged anti-doping rule violation.
On 31 January 2017 CAS granted a stay, which temporarily suspended the ban. Such provisional measure enabled the athlete to apply for entry to compete on 3 February 2017. This also gave Olga Abramova the opportunity to be considered for a place in the Ukrainian national team at the IBU World Cup.
The final CAS award should be issued in the next few weeks.
