The team at Lombardi Associates succeeded in a recent appeal filed with CAS against their client, Italian club US Sassuolo Calcio.

The appeal concerned a claim for training compensation under the FIFA regulations following the first registration of a player as a professional, and allegations that a “bridge transfer” occurred in the scope of this registration.

Key issues: Training Compensation, Art. R57 CAS Code, “bridge transfer”, burden of proof, scholarship agreements under Italian FA rules.
